There are a few scenarios that can play out - \n\na) AI works amazingly well + creates new industries and millions of jobs simultaneously\nb) AI works, displaces jobs and creates new jobs after a lag\nc) AI works, displaces jobs and creates a permanent underclass\nd) AI works with significant lag, which is Capex slows down considerably and models are refined and we go through an AI winter\ne) AI does not work\n\nMost AI optimists would think of b) and c) as plausible scenarios and AI pessimists would select d) and e) as high probability. \n\nThe only scenario in which the financial crisis does not happen is scenario a) which is highly improbable. \n\nAll other scenarios lead to a financial adjustment phase of 5-8 years. \n\nAI Capex is 2.5 trillion+ this year. AI revenue lags. Token consumption is increasing but margin per token is negative. Most large tech companies are either FCF negative (e.g. Oracle, Amazon this year) or barely positive. Cash is a higher order truth than earnings. \n\nInsiders are selling.\n\nMost equity markets are consolidating for the last 4-5 months and every uptick is with lower and lower volume. "text": "I am happy to share that my research paper titled “AIMS-Net: A Hybrid CNN with Multi-Scale Feature Extraction and Attention Mechanism for Autism Detection” has been published at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT).\nI am deeply grateful to my guide Dr. Kavitha Nair R for her guidance, patience, and support throughout this journey. I would also like to thank my co-author Shreya Kamalapurkar for her collaboration and support, and my alumni Guruprasad R for his initial guidance.\nThis was my first research project, which I started in my 4th semester. When I began, I didn’t even know Machine Learning properly, let alone Deep Learning or Neural Networks. I didn’t know how to load a dataset into Jupyter Notebook. Building models felt far away. But I had the motivation to do something meaningful.\nThe initial phase was difficult. It involved daily struggles. Learning from scratch, discussing with my guide and alumni, reading documentation, experimenting, failing, fixing, and repeating. My first model was a simple CNN. Later, I incorporated an attention mechanism, which brought new challenges in understanding and implementation.\nAll of this was done on a normal CPU based laptop. No GPU. The laptop often overheated or froze, but slowly things started working.\nWriting the research paper itself was another learning curve. Structuring ideas, writing clearly, citing properly, and maintaining academic quality was not easy. I’m thankful to my guide for never compromising on standards and teaching me what academic rigor means.\nI also want to thank Sahil Gaba for one line that stayed with me.\n“If you wait to do things after learning everything, you’ll never do them. There are a few scenarios that can play out - \n\na) AI works amazingly well + creates new industries and millions of jobs simultaneously\nb) AI works, displaces jobs and creates new jobs after a lag\nc) AI works, displaces jobs and creates a permanent underclass\nd) AI works with significant lag, which is Capex slows down considerably and models are refined and we go through an AI winter\ne) AI does not work\n\nMost AI optimists would think of b) and c) as plausible scenarios and AI pessimists would select d) and e) as high probability. \n\nThe only scenario in which the financial crisis does not happen is scenario a) which is highly improbable. \n\nAll other scenarios lead to a financial adjustment phase of 5-8 years. \n\nAI Capex is 2.5 trillion+ this year. AI revenue lags. Token consumption is increasing but margin per token is negative. Most large tech companies are either FCF negative (e.g. Oracle, Amazon this year) or barely positive. Cash is a higher order truth than earnings. \n\nInsiders are selling.\n\nMost equity markets are consolidating for the last 4-5 months and every uptick is with lower and lower volume. "text": "I am happy to share that my research paper titled “AIMS-Net: A Hybrid CNN with Multi-Scale Feature Extraction and Attention Mechanism for Autism Detection” has been published at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT).\nI am deeply grateful to my guide Dr. Kavitha Nair R for her guidance, patience, and support throughout this journey. I would also like to thank my co-author Shreya Kamalapurkar for her collaboration and support, and my alumni Guruprasad R for his initial guidance.\nThis was my first research project, which I started in my 4th semester. When I began, I didn’t even know Machine Learning properly, let alone Deep Learning or Neural Networks. I didn’t know how to load a dataset into Jupyter Notebook. Building models felt far away. But I had the motivation to do something meaningful.\nThe initial phase was difficult. It involved daily struggles. Learning from scratch, discussing with my guide and alumni, reading documentation, experimenting, failing, fixing, and repeating. My first model was a simple CNN. Later, I incorporated an attention mechanism, which brought new challenges in understanding and implementation.\nAll of this was done on a normal CPU based laptop. No GPU. The laptop often overheated or froze, but slowly things started working.\nWriting the research paper itself was another learning curve. Structuring ideas, writing clearly, citing properly, and maintaining academic quality was not easy. I’m thankful to my guide for never compromising on standards and teaching me what academic rigor means.\nI also want to thank Sahil Gaba for one line that stayed with me.\n“If you wait to do things after learning everything, you’ll never do them.
